How Kerry and Von Serve with Global Recordings Network
Kerry and Nhuvan (Von or Van) work as recordists in NE Thailand. This involves much travel for relationship building with the people and churches. Their job involves language and cultural research, translation of various scripts for evangelism and discipleship, recording, editing, evaluating current and previous recordings and processing the new recordings to make them available on the website and in the 5fish application. Nhuvan prepares monthly prayer requests, checks reports, checks the translation of scripts in Thai and English, helps Kerry as much as she can, and tries to be a friend to the language helpers who are not Christians by serving them through preparing food for them to eat, sharing the Gospel with them, doing a basic health check and helping Kerry and others to teach English for Sounds of Language Foundation.
The Lord placed Global Recording Network on Kerry’s heart many years ago while he was praying about his future. Kerry and Nhuvan knew God was calling them to serve in Thailand, and they have seen God open many doors and provide language helpers again and again when the situation seemed impossible.
On Faith, Family, & Background
Kerry was born into a Christian family and began to follow Jesus as a young child. Nhuvan was born in South Vietnam and was sponsored to come to the US in 1984. She came to the US a Buddhist, but believed in Jesus after reading a Vietnamese Bible given to her by her parents. She met Kerry in Thailand as a single missionary with New Tribes Mission (now Ethnos 360). When they were married, Nhuvan joined Global Recordings Network.
