Together in Prayer – March, 2020
Dear friend,
The nature and purpose of GRN’s work puts us in a spiritual battle with the enemies of the cross of Christ. In this battle GRN cannot function without prayer. Ask God to greatly enlarge GRN’s prayer base by adding more prayer warriors in every country where GRN works.
Together in prayer,
The Global Recordings USA Team

Praying Scripture: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” I John 5:14 KJV Pray that we will know his will and how to follow it.
Colombia trip report: GRN USA leader, Larry DeVilbiss recently returned from a two-week trip to Colombia with new recordings in the Epera: Baudo language. Give praise for good cooperation and partnership with a local church.
Praise for language helpers: Although the five helpers who were pre-arranged to speak on the Epera recordings didn’t work out, God provided others from six villages who did a great job. Many hours of testimony, songs, and Bible stories were completed.
Following up in Colombia: The church in among the Epera desires to reach out to other language groups in nearby villages. Pray for the leaders who will coordinate plans to share God’s Word in other areas.
Players needed: Pray for Rosenberg, church leader of the Epera, who has asked for 100 MP3 players to distribute in villages of the Baudo. Pray for the message of the cross to penetrate the hearts of the people of this group and convict them of their need for a Savior, Jesus Christ.
Future workers: Pray for Seth, Tony, and Jeremy who accompanied Larry on his recent trip. May the Lord guide them in their future decisions to serve God, whether with GRN or somewhere else.
Colombia/Ecuador team: Pray for the GRN workers at these bases, Gustavo, Ines, Nubia and others, that they will know the Lord’s direction for the work there; that they will have the training and resources they need to continue on; that they would be protected from danger as they travel.
Protection and provision: Pray for the believers in Colombia who have had to move from the traditional areas of life and livelihood because of the guerrilla activities. Pray for God’s protection over them and for provision of hunting grounds, garden areas, jobs, etc.
Praying Scripture: “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Eph. 6:18 KJV
USA office transitions: The USA office building is in escrow pending a final sale in April. Pray for the staff and volunteers as we pack, purge, and prepare for moving. The plans are still in flux at the writing of this prayer bulletin.
Relocation options: Pray for our Board of Directors, our Executive Director, and his leadership team as they seek out God’s will for future ministry locations for GRN. The SIL-Mexico office in Arizona is a strong option.
Culiacan results: Much prayer accompanied the outreach this year as some USA volunteers were unable to go. The local churches stepped up and outreach proceeded with God’s direction. Thank God for all the recordings and helps that were distributed.
Future recordist training in Mexico: Pray for God’s direction, for the selection of trainees, for the provision of equipment, for the right place and timing. May several new workers be commissioned to continue the work among people groups in Mexico and nearby countries.
European Regional Director: Ask God to reveal the one he has chosen for this strategic role with the task to encourage and motivate the European teams to work closely together as their countries try to cope with huge influxes of refugees and immigrants.
The importance of partnerships: Pray for God’s direction as we seek to work with other mission groups with similar goals and vision. Pray for Roland Heck and John Steinmetz as they communicate and make arrangements for future collaborations.
Praying Scripture: “I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.” Psalm 145:1-2 KJV
ILT meets in Australia: The International Leadership Team (ILT) is meeting in Australia. Pray for God’s agenda and anointed preparation for Graydon (ID), Christine, John, Surendra, and Philippe. Bill Cornthwaite will be representing GRN USA at the ILT.
The Baraine language of Chad: In their traditional religion, all blessings and curses are attributed to the activity of the spirits of nature. Pray for opportunities to get GRN recordings into their hands and for faith to come by hearing the Word of God.
Filipino team plans: Praise God that the Filipino team has finished editing the material recorded in Mindoro. Pray for prepared hearts during an outreach in April.
Unresponsive tribal group: Pray for the Mura-Piraha, a small language group in the Amazon. They remain mostly monolingual and largely unresponsive to decades of missionary contact, including GRN recordings. Pray for openness to the gospel.
West Africa workers: Give thanks for GRN workers in countries such as Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, and more sensitive nations. Pray for them to find opportunities to record and distribute the messages, and for God to transform many lives with spoken words.
Pakistan opportunities: Praise God for the GRN Pakistan team and the opportunities God has given them for widespread distribution of their recent recordings. Ask God to show listeners their need of a Savior. Pray too for more openings to make recordings.
Spiritual growth: Pray for GRN staff around the world to grow closer to Christ in all they do. Pray especially that their efforts will be fruitful and valuable for the advancement of the kingdom of God.
Working together in South Africa: GRN leader in South Africa, Dalene Joubert, and recordist, Joel Juedes, have worked closely with Bible translators in several southern Africa nations. Together they produced stories and Bible content. Pray that these recordings will point many people to the Savior.
5fish development: James Thomas from GRN Australia leads the development of the 5fish.mobi website and app. Pray for the increasing use of these tools as a means of distributing gospel materials from GRN and other missions
Kawasaka Project: GRN Philippines asks prayer for this annual distribution and promotional outreach beginning in April. Pray for good weather, provisions and local partners.
GRN Kenya: Life is becoming difficult in Kenya, particularly Nairobi. Pray that the Lord will provide and help all the Kenya staff to meet their needs.
Praying Scripture for the Dahalo people of Kenya: “I am come that the Dahalo people of Kenya might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 KJV
Kingdom goals: Pray that the goals GRN sets will be in line with God’s Kingdom goals. We can be confident that our Father will make provision for what He has given GRN to carry out.
Safely moving: As moving day approaches pray for all the GRN files, tapes, equipment, etc. that must be moved from the current office to the new location, that everything will travel safely without damage or loss.
Thanksgivings; Thank the Lord with us for all the faithful prayer partners who carry this work, and all the unreached people groups, before the throne of grace every month. May God bless each one who prays.
